Systems Administrator
Location: Northern Virginia - Hybrid
Run the internal IT environment that keeps a field services company operating, covering identity, endpoints, networking, backup, and security, and support client engagements where a systems skill set is part of the scope.
Responsibilities

Administer identity and productivity platforms such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, including provisioning, access control, and MFA

Manage endpoints: imaging, patching, encryption, and mobile device management

Maintain office and remote network infrastructure, VPN, and firewall rules
-
Own backup, recovery, and retention for company data

Administer the ticketing, documentation, and field reporting tools
-
Implement and maintain baseline security controls and respond to incidents

Support client engagements requiring server, network, or systems expertise

Document configurations and maintain an accurate internal asset inventory
Requirements
-
3+ years administering Windows and Linux systems in a production environment

Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN

Experience administering a cloud identity and productivity suite

Backup and disaster recovery experience

Able to work independently and prioritize without close supervision
Preferred

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco

Experience supporting a distributed field workforce

Scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)

Familiarity with security frameworks relevant to client requirements
