Data Center Technician
Location: Northern Virginia
Hands-on deployment, maintenance, and diagnostics inside live colocation facilities. You'll rack and cable equipment, execute smart-hand tickets, and document every change you make. Field-based across Ashburn, Sterling, and Manassas with occasional after-hours and on-call work.
Responsibilities

Rack and stack servers, storage, and network equipment to elevation drawings

Run, terminate, dress, and label copper and fiber inside cabinets and cages

Execute smart hands tickets: reboots, hardware swaps, optic replacement, console and KVM access, cable reseats

Perform visual inspections and report alarm, LED, and airflow conditions

Receive, inventory, and stage inbound equipment

Capture serials, asset tags, and rack positions accurately

Photograph work before and after, and close tickets with written detail

Escalate anything outside the approved scope rather than improvising
Preferred

CompTIA Server+ or Network+
-
OSHA 10 or 30
-
Experience with structured cabling certification testers
Requirements

2+ years of hands-on work in a data center, colocation, or enterprise server room environment

Comfortable working from tickets, drawings, and written scopes

Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders and lifts

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between sites

Able to pass background screening required for facility badging

Available for occasional nights, weekends, and on-call rotation
